Behind the shelf / process

How a depot weighbridge is built.

Four steps decide how a deck performs after years of loaded trucks: the weld, the blast, the paint and the fatigue test. Here is what we actually do at each one.

  • Fully welded U-steel
  • Sa2.5 blast
  • Double-coat ≥120 μm
  • 2,000,000 cycles

Step by step

What happens before it gets a catalog number

  1. Weld. U-section steel is joined into a fully welded closed cavity. The closed section is the reason the deck holds its shape under repeated loading.
  2. Blast. The steel is shot-blasted to Sa2.5 so the coating has a clean, profiled surface to bite into.
  3. Paint. A double-sided double-coat system goes on both faces, reaching a dry film of at least 120 μm - the layer that decides how the deck looks after a few seasons outdoors.
  4. Prove. The platform goes through a third-party 2,000,000-cycle fatigue test, so the structure is validated for repetition rather than a single proof load.

Standard deck is 3500x1000 mm with a widened 4200x1000 mm option, and ZDG multi-deck combinations cover mixed wheelbases. Capacity classes run 20, 50 and 100 t.

Process questions

Manufacturing FAQ

What is the platform made from?

U-section steel, fully welded into a closed cavity - a shape chosen to resist the twisting a loaded deck sees at a busy gate.

How is the surface prepared?

Steel is shot-blasted to Sa2.5, then painted on both sides with a double-sided double-coat system reaching a dry film of at least 120 μm.

Is the structure fatigue-tested?

The platform has been through a third-party 2,000,000-cycle fatigue test.

Who builds and installs it?

We keep our own R and D, manufacturing, installation and maintenance teams, so one organization carries the order from drawing to service.

How much do you build?

10,000+ units a year, trusted in 70+ countries.
